Today, April Fool’s (of course, it when Louis passed to the other side), Louis Sarno is one of our dear Global Voice wisdomkeepers from the other side. A precious friend, a kind soul who lived among the BaAka peoples in the Central African Republic for over thirty years, who recorded their music setting them on the world stage, help inaugurate the Radio France’s Radio Ndjoku among his people. His friend, our board members, Sara Driver and Alexis Adler and Andrea Turkalo have been corresponding all day honoring him. Another friend, Cynthia Wormsley shared these photos of Louis speaking to a group of fourth graders at PS3 in Manhattan in 2015. Enjoy these photos amongst the students.

Louis Sarno was a master storyteller writing two books: Song from the Forest: My Life Among the Ba-Benjelle' Pygmies and Bayaka: The Extraordinary Music of the Babenzele Pygmies and Sounds of Their Foresthome. His experiences were so extraordinary two films were made about him: Song from the Forest and Oka! Read more about him: https://www.globalvoicefoundation.com/louis-sarno
